It's VERY hard to ID Tribe Scymnini to species - many of them actually can't be ID'd except by dissection! - but a few are distinctive externally, and you found one of them, and captured the necessary features for ID too. Hope to see more of your lady beetle photos!

Scymnus rubricaudus

Excellent find! We don't have very many of these on BugGuide. The large pale area at the rear of the body is shared by a few other species, but the entirely-pale head and the dark pronotum with a narrow pale edge point to S. rubricaudus. (Some specimens do have dark areas on the head, but the farther south you go, the paler they get. In Florida the pronotum is also pale.)

lady beetle, Tribe Scymnini; will work on it more

My reference book for Tribe Scymnini is not at hand right now but I will look for this lady beetle tonight. The entirely pale head is extremely unusual and should help with an ID.
