Moved from Gaurax.

Gaurax dorsalis
The colour pattern on the dorsal part of the thorax is the clue for G. dorsalis

Gaurax sp. --det. T.A. Wheeler
his comment: "Nice little chloropid; it's not a terribly abundant genus so it's always nice to find one. It's in the genus Gaurax (the wing venation is the giveaway). There are 20-odd described species in North America, and apparently at least that many undescribed species, so I'll resist putting a species name on it for now."

nice addition, your Bobship!! keep them coming. =v=

Moved from Grass Flies.

Love the Name
Gaurax is has a good regional, "South of I-10" sound about it. It must be said with a Cajun accent.

my own accent will do, too
pretty name indeed -- quite befitting the glamorous looks of the critter

Moved tentatively
