Plant Bug? - Lopidea ampla

Plant Bug? - Lopidea ampla
San Gregorio Beach, San Mateo County, California, USA
July 13, 2006
Some sort of Miridae perhaps? Any ID would be appreciated! :-)

Moved
Moved from Lopidea.

L. ampla probably
According to (1), Lopidea ampla is the only black and yellow member of the genus that occurs on the west coast, and it fits the description of that species (note that there are many other black and yellow species on the east coast however)

Lopidea
It looks like some species of Lopidea.

Moved
Moved from True Bugs.

Miridae.
Yes, this is a plant bug in the Miridae.

Any Idea of the genus
Do you know the genus?

No.
Miridae are way out of my league:-) At some point I hope to recruit an expert to help us place our images from that family. This is a great shot and should be no problem for an expert.
