This fly was one of the easiest I've photographed. It got stuck on a milkweed flower, and couldn't fly away.

Hybomitra hinei - male
I believe this is the only Hybomitra with the combination of shiny thorax and partially infuscated wings.
It takes a strong bug to pull out the pollinia of milkweeds.

Milkweed can be deadly if you're a bug.
