Mourning Cloak - Nymphalis antiopa

Mourning Cloak - Nymphalis antiopa
Canton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA
July 7, 2006
I don't usually see these on flowers, but this day there were about 8 of them on the milkweed flowers. They were the newly emerged summer brood.

Morning Cloak
This is just a perfect photo of the Morning Cloak. I like it that you were able to capture the beautiful crimson color which is only revealed when the sunlight strikes it at at just the right angle or you are able to use a flash at just the right angle. Eiher way, you brought out its beauty with this shot.
