White juvenile male #2 - Phidippus regius - male

White juvenile male #2 - Phidippus regius - Male
Orange County, Florida, USA
July 15, 2006
Size: 5mm
I collected this specimen on May 28, 2006. It looked like a typical male regius as a 4th instar, except for the large white marking on its carapace. It molted two weeks after it was collected and had a drastic color change. It went from black and white to black, white, tan, and gray. Regretfully, I didn't take any pictures of it in time. About three weeks after the first molt it molted again. That was another drastic color change. Now I believe it to be a 6th instar and it's very similar to the specimen that I collected in Okeechobee County in 2005.
