Carpenter Bee? - Andrena vicina

Carpenter Bee? - Andrena vicina
Appleton, Outagamie County, Wisconsin, USA
May 15, 2012
These bees are common on the flowers in our orchard and garden - here it is on a chive flower. They are slightly smaller than bumblebees usually are, and I have been guessing it was a carpenter bee (Xylocopa virginica?).
