Ambush Bug
One of the real experts will correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like an Ambush Bug in the Family Phymatidae. As you can guess by the name, they lay in wait for smaller insects, ambush them and eat them.

It may be strange-looking, but it's normal for an Ambush Bug- most of them look like a jumbled assortment of spare parts, like this one.
