Lygaeus kalmii nymph? - Lygaeus kalmii

Lygaeus kalmii nymph? - Lygaeus kalmii
Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
May 28, 2012
This insect was crawling on the stem of Asclepias eriocarpa (Kotolo or Indian Milkweed) at the Claremont Colleges’ Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station. I think it is a nymph of the Small Milkweed Bug, Lygaeus kalmii. It looks very like this one:

which was also photographed in Claremont, and it was on the appropriate host plant.

Confirmation or correction will be greatly appreciated!
