glow worm? - Phengodes

glow worm? - Phengodes
Robins, Linn County, Iowa, USA
May 29, 2012
Size: about 1 and 1/2 inches
I found this little guy last night about 11:00 under our white pines. Each segment lights up and contains a pair of legs. He is really good at getting under the pine straw in a hurry. The luminescence was quite bright. in the light he is a light tan color.
