Aaron, here's a comment I received from a local expert:

No, this is not Epinotia abbreviana. Several aspects are not quite right
(based on the specimens figured in BOLD and figures in European literature):

1. The angle of the outer edge of the dark basal fascia occurs below the
center of the wing in abbreviana, whereas in yours it occurs just above
the center of the wing. Also, in specimens which are pale on the dorsum,
the pale fascia goes through to the costa, which yours doesn't.

2. The dark central fascia (angled outwards from the costa) is always
clearly visible and straight-edged, +/- parallel-sided, to at least 1/4,
usually more, from the costa. Yours is not clearly visible and smudged.

3. The cilia of the termen should be grey, or at most paler towards the
tornus. Yours has pale cilia from the apex to just more than half-way.

4. Probably even more importantly, it's sitting posture is completely
wrong for abbreviana, see this link for photos of living abbreviana

It does look a lot like the pinned specimen on MPG. I'll see if I can get another opinion.
