Wow...quite bizarre!
It took me a while to figure out why Karl had posted what initially looked like frass ;-) Then it took a little longer to figure out where the male and female were...and same for their heads and tails.

A relatively simple shape, but a texturally intricate and strikingly cryptic creation of the coleopteran clade. Good eye to catch that, and not just pass it by. Great photos too.
