I'm beginning to suspect that 90+% of the 'mosquitos' in my garden are in fact small crane flies!

Not sure
It doesn't seem to have the notched pronotum of a
Chironomus
but otherwise it looks like one. Does it have male genitalia? I wonder if it is an intersex, like
Parasitic worms cause female Chironomidae to grow male genitalia.
