Identification

Wing yellowish at base, lower calypter larger than upper, arista with long hairs, acrostichals in rows close together, prealar bristle long, scutellum covered in small hairs, tibiae yellow to dark brown, two posterodorsal bristles on hind tibia with lower longer. Range

A common European species introduced to Northeastern United States in the 1920s. There are disjunct Northeastern and Pacific Northwest populations.
