"It is Uloma retusa. It turns out we have had it from the southeast coast for several years. Yours was the first from the west coast and the first of the red-pronotum color form."

"I'll bet this is Uloma retusa, but we'll need a dissected male to confirm." According to Warren, this is a widespread Neotropical species.

but for the color scheme, both striking and unfamiliar, i could have unscrupulously call it
