Identification

"This genus may be separated from other Nearctic sarcophagid genera by a combination of the following features: postalar wall bare; costa with an irregular ventral row of setae extending from base to, or just past, R1; long set of setae oflower calyptral fringe extending to posterolateral corner."(1)

Life Cycle

Species in this genus have been reared from Hymenoptera, Coleoptera, Lepidoptera, and Orthoptera. (1)

Remarks

"The genus Boettcheria contains some of the most commonly collected sarcophagids in North America." (1)
