Ichneumon - Therion - male

Ichneumon - Therion - Male
Ogle County, Illinois, USA
June 2, 2012
Size: 17mm
Have you seen me? This wasp has a very distinctive bouncing flight in the understory - the yellow antennae and yellow legs really stand out in the shadows - and the black body and wings become invisible. It's and uncanny effect, and if you've ever seen one you'll never forget it! I see no evidence of an ovipositor, so I'm assuming it's a male. Thanks for any help.
