Large cockroach sized insect, dallas tx (side) - Plectrodera scalator
Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, USA
June 3, 2010
Size: 2 to 3 inches
Found two of these on porch, one was a dead carcass or possible a molted shell?. The live one has 5 legs :-) Size of a very large cockroach. It has a small clump of dust between it's antenna. Veered up at camera after a few photos. Also back shell opened a little as if it was about to get out wings but it didn't do so.
