Coccinella californica

Coccinella californica
Half Moon Bay, San Mateo County, California, USA
July 19, 2006
After going through all the genera of coccinellidae in California, and going through each species of Coccinella, the one that matched perfectly is Coccinella californica, and, as I live in California, I figure that it's a pretty good bet, but i'm open to any differing opinions :-)

Coccinella californica
Yes thats what is Coccinella californica

Here's hoping you're right, he said chauvinistically
Speaking as a SoCal shooter, The Golden State needs better insect representation on Bug Guide. It was almost embarassing to find no California Sister butterfly on the Guide, so I added one. Still, our state butterfly isn't represented, so go shoot a dogface! (BTW, I have family in Wichita and, like you, also photograph KS critters.)
