 Blinded Sphinx - Paonias excaecata

Blinded Sphinx - Paonias excaecata
Dixon, Pulaski County, Missouri, USA
July 6, 2002
It looks a lot like the Blinded Sphinx, but the color is a little different. My brother took the picture, but I did get permission to submit it.

Moved from Sphinx Moths.

Blinded Sphinx, you got it!
Paonias excaecatus. Nice shot. Don't concern yourself about the color.

Thank you very much for the help. I have just started trying to identify my finds, so I am not ever confident. I am getting better, though, because that was 3 for 3 tonight! This site is such a fantastic resource! I can spend hours just browsing the pictures.
