Buprestidae - Phaenops fulvoguttata

Buprestidae - Phaenops fulvoguttata
Stephentown, Rensselaer County, New York, USA
May 30, 2012
Size: 10mm
Can anyone help me with this Buprestid? I thought it was Phaenops fulvoguttata at first, but the photos I looked at did not show the extra small spot next to the bigger spot at the anterior end of the elytra. Is this diagnostic? It looks like P. lecontei but the only records on here were from out west.

I should also add that the pine bark this was found on was from a mill and could have been imported from anywhere.

I agree
I agree with P. fulvoguttata. I see no elytral costae, eliminating P. drummondi.

Thank you, Kyle!
