Butterflies 'Eating' - Thymelicus lineola

Butterflies 'Eating' - Thymelicus lineola
Torbay, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada
July 20, 2006
These butterflies were all sitting on this one flower, 'eating'. One flew off and two stayed. I cannot be sure which butterfly is seen in the individual photos. It's one of these three but I don't know which one. I assume they are all the same species? Besides an ID, I'd really appreciate any comments about how the proboscis works. I was absolutely amazed when looking through the viewfinder, when I saw that long tube extended for eating and then almost instantaneously coiled up and retracted into the head. Maybe there isn't really any more to explain but I'd never seen this happen before and it was an amazing sight to me.

Awesome photos
It looks to me like a Delaware Skipper but I don't think you have them there. Skippers are hard there are so many kinds.
