Possible Laphria thoracica - Laphria thoracica

Possible Laphria thoracica - Laphria thoracica
Bull Falls camping area along Bluestone Lake, Summers County, West Virginia, USA
May 27, 2012
This image shows the concavity between the eyes and shows the nearly joined antennae, more like those seen on flies than bees. I wasn't sure what to make of the apparatus at the distal abdomen, whether that was something that could help with identification, as it isn't mentioned in any of my field guides.
