Probably N. lacustris, as the species is currently understood. Kavanaugh is studying the N. lacustris - N. pallipes duo at the present time, conducting extensive DNA work. But N. lacustris is more common on finer-grained substrates and calmer waters; N. pallipes is more an alpine stream critter. The two occur together where there are mixed habitats.
