Cuckoo bee visiting bee balm flower - Nomada

Cuckoo bee visiting bee balm flower - Nomada
Orleans, Humboldt County, California, USA
May 30, 2012
I was teaching a lesson on native pollinators at Orleans Elementary School a few weeks ago. I took students outside to observe pollinators in action. We noticed this wasp was one of many different pollinators at work. It was the only one that was still long enough for me to snap a photo of it. I'm going to be doing a follow up lesson and would like to be able to tell the students what they saw and might see again.

Thank you for the quick ID! It'll be great to tell the students what I found out.
