Different species, too
The male is Anatis mali, with his ringed spots, reddish color, and yellowing pronotum; the female is Anatis labiculata, with a deep purple color and white pronotum. Her spots are almost invisible but they don't have a trace of paler rings around them.
This is a great photo for comparison of the two species: the elongated and very explanate (flared) shape of the female contrasts with the shorter, rounder, less-explanate shape of the male.

they are ladybugs!
The female is older than the male - this species darkens with age, from yellow-gray when it emerges from the pupa to deep red-brown, so dark the spots are barely visible.
