Very nice it is a male of the genus Nausigaster!

 
Thanks for the ID and compliment.
I was able to get just three shots of this guy and lucked into a .667 batting average. There are lots of flies I recognize as syrphids out right now, but I'm seeing many small blackish hovering flies that are hard to shoot. Will keep at it!
