Plant Lice - Craspedolepta angustipennis

Plant Lice - Craspedolepta angustipennis
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
June 14, 2012
Size: ~2 mm
Found on Yarrow (Achillea millefolium lanulosa) Both yellow and green forms were found, male and female ?

Moved from Psyllidae.

Craspedolepta angustipennis
Based on the shape of the head, the white wings densely covered in dark spots, the BC locality and the Yarrow host. Crawford 1911 includes a full description of the species and illustrations of the head and wings.

Similar species within the same range include Craspedolepta canadensis, though the wings of that species appear to be less maculate and the only recorded host is Artemisia.
