6 of these came to my lights at night. Very quick to fly, but did not fly far.

This thing was definitely larger than 1cm; at least 3-4cm.I agree that it looks like the genus you put it in, though.

 
no member of this family in the US exceeds 12 mm [1.2 cm]
...according to literature.
pls keep in mind that size estimates are useless for identification purposes, and more often mislead than help; unless you have an accurate measurement, leave the field blank.
