Moved
Moved from Yellow-masked Bees.

I've now seen specimens from Cook Co.
so have more confidence in the H. hyalinatus ID

looks like Hylaeus hyalinatus, native to Europe
If so, the first record for the New World outside of New York and Ontario. Please try to get more photos or better yet specimens to document the significant range extension of this invasive species, which, if verified, is publishable. Please post any additional photos of this bee, even if poor, and please try to get a photo showing the abdominal apex as H. hyalinatus has a distinctive spatulate, projecting sternum 8. I would also like to see the underside of the antennae.

Male Hylaeus.
This is a male yellow-faced bee in the genus Hylaeus, family Colletidae. Obviously, some are ivory-faced bees:-)
