Glyphipterix circumscriptella

Glyphipterix circumscriptella
Rockaway, Morris County, New Jersey, USA
June 19, 2012
Size: VERY small
Active during the day - photo taken at 4:40PM.
Extremely small. You can compare it to the standard daisy it's on.
Really neat looking.

Apparently this is the first record for NJ.

Whether it is widely scatted and very rare or widespread and common but simply over-looked due to small size I am not sure.

hi
Looks like Glyphipterix circumscriptella, based on MPG photos.

Ah, thanks so much! That look
Ah, thanks so much! That looks like it for sure.

I forget to look under that family on here, I should've noticed the Yellow Nutsedge in the new Peterson guide was also vaguely along the same lines and checked out this group too.

Wow, looking at the data I see that it's only twice ever before been reported to bug guide. Once from Wisconsin and once from New York state. I guess it is widespread but rare or widely scattered and rare. Although judging by bug guide may be misleading for a great variety of reasons, granted.
