Please check this guy out again. The hindwing looks like it is bent, wrinkled or otherwise deformed. (aberrant) It may be that it isn't naturally pointed, but it just looks that way, from this perspective.
The pectinate antennae are not showing up on any other image on BUGGUIDE, MPG or BOLD, for this species. It's hard to be sure, but I would suggest that this might actually be a male of The Vestal Moth, Cabera variolaria. (widespread)
