(all our spp. range into n. Mexico)
Remarks
Many species, as well as some other scarabs, reflect these bright colors due to a unique combination of circular polarizing light, multilayer reflectors, and additive color mixing, known to occur only in Scarabaeidae, mostly in Rutelinae.
