Moth - Diathrausta

Moth - Diathrausta
Madera Canyon, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
July 25, 2008

Diathrausta
Moved from ID Request.

There are two species that can not be reliably distinguished from photos. They may both be in AZ but I will check.
Thanks

Diathrausta reconditalis/harlequinalis
Powell & Opler(1) only mention D. harlequinalis and Bruce Walsh only lists D. reconditalis, (Santa Ritas) for AZ! I think there has always been confusion of these two and possibly DNA has resolved this group somewhat. Bruce may have a better understanding.
Thanks
