Unknown Beetle(?) - Microporus obliquus

Unknown Beetle(?) - Microporus obliquus
Scottsdale, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
June 24, 2012
Size: about 1/4"
Hello,

We recently have had a good number of these insects in our house that we think came in with a recent shipment. We live in Arizona but if they came in from somewhere else that doesn't really help. I have attached a picture to help with the id. The are very small, maybe a 1/8" - 1/4". When touched they make a slight clicking noise and release an odor. It is a sweet smell that reminds me of soap, which I thought it was at one point before I realized it came from the insect. They also appear to play dead.
Thanks for your help.

I'm guessing you didn't mean to move this to beetles. :)

Moved from ID Request.

Not beetle, but a Burrowing Bug (Cydnidae)
Maybe something close to this one:
