Moved
Moved from Spotted Orbweavers.

..
A good lateral view of the pedipalp would be nice.

Moved to Neoscona
Moved from Spiders. That's a good tip about the 7s but I'd like to see if someone can tell anything from that palp shot.

N. crucifera diagnosis
Hank Guarisco has told me that when the ventral spots form two 7s in mirror image, as this one does, this is diagnostic for Neoscona crucifera. The dorsal views I'm seeing seem too plain for the N. crucifera I'm familiar with, but that's highly variable anyway.

We have lots of . . .
Neoscona crucifera spiders around here. This spider, if a male of this species, is the largest male I have ever seen, by far. In fact, it was as large and bulbous as any female I've ever seen.

Large male orbweaver
Nice one. Did you take a full dorsal shot like this one

It appears to be a Neoscona species, but I'm not sure which one.

Unfortunately,
I did not. :(
