These appear to populate diverse habitats
I recently
posted photos
of what appears to be a close species (perhaps the same?) from a damp gulch within 100 feet of the Pacific. That habitat is seemingly a world away from the summit area of Mt. Pinos.

Since these wasps are after flies they would of course be found in whatever habitat their prey lives. Though I tried to find more I did not succeed. Definitely want to revisit this next year.
Jim Hogue has one specimen from Solstice Canyon, Santa Monica Mountains.
