Alpine Moth - Lasionycta

Alpine Moth - Lasionycta
Sitka County, Alaska, USA
June 22, 2012
Saw a couple of these flying around, I think they were laying eggs based on the number I found in the container I held this one in.

Moved
Moved from Moths. Hard to tell without a specimen, but nice moth!

Thanks!
Any idea what they might eat? This one laid a bunch of eggs in the container I had her in - I think some might hatch, and I wouldn't mind trying to raise them.

Great idea-
You might try Vaccinium or the like - I'd go back to the spot where you found her (or similar at least) and collect leaves from some of the most prevalent plants. You can divide the newly emerged larvae between these plants and they should start feeding within a day. Then you know what they all need! (I'll send you an email with a paper on this genus).
