Pirate spider egg sac? - Ero canionis

Pirate spider egg sac? - Ero canionis
Cowichan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
June 26, 2012
I found this egg sac right near this spider, which I'm guessing is of the same species (but probably not the same individual) that made it:

It looks a lot like this, from genus Ero:

The long tip with relatively few of the wiry-looking brown threads is different, though.

New photos
Added a shot of this sac which shows its contents.

Also one of another sac in the same area with different coloring and lacking the long tip here:

Moved from Ero.

Pirate Spider egg sac
Moved from Spiders. I'm pretty sure we can say this belongs here.

Ero canionis
I think there are good grounds to think this is from Ero canionis now. This site shows images for E. furcata's sacs, and they look very different with much looser brown threads:

Interestingly, there is variation in the sacs here. I've found several in the same area now. Some have the long tip, some don't. I'll take photos of them, though I don't know if it would be of any value to post the results.

Yes, I think that is of value to the guide. Thanks.
