Wasp Gall? - Andricus sessilum

Wasp Gall? - Andricus sessilum
Madera Canyon, Pima County, Arizona, USA
June 3, 2012
Size: <0.5 centimeters
I was told from the Mushroom Observer community that this is no cup fungus as I had once suspected, but instead could be some sort of wasp galls. That's why I'm submitting it to the appropriate bug group to have it identified by the pros in this area. Any ideas are appreciated!

If you can find out what kind of oak leaf this is, that would be helpful. Possibly related to these:

Cynipid wasp gall
This may or may not be a species that has been described. I'll check my reference on southwestern galls when I get a chance.

Thank You.
I'm very grateful for such a fast identification! That surely helps a lot, thank you.
