Clearwing - Albuna pyramidalis

Clearwing - Albuna pyramidalis
Cave Creek Trail near Horsethief Meadow, Santa Fe NF, San Miguel County, New Mexico, USA
June 27, 2012
Carmenta?

Mixed conifers at 9,000 or 10,000 feet. I think the flower is Solidago simplex.

If you take this trail, bring a stick, because there are more Purplish Coppers than you can shake a stick at. (One is cropped out of one of these pictures.)

Moved from Sesioidea.

Moth ID
It is Albuna pyramidalis (fireweed borer).

Thanks
for the ID of this pretty little moth, and thanks to the Balabans for the move (which I'd have been happy to do myself). The fireweed was just coming into bloom.

Possibly the yellow should be a bit brighter.
