Large Gray/Black Spider in riparian environment - Dolomedes vittatus
Baltimore, MD, USA, Baltimore County, Maryland, USA
June 27, 2012
Size: 1" body, 3" w/legs
This is the largest spider I have ever seen in Maryland. It was discovered clinging to a steep riverbank a foot or two over the water.

Dolomedes vittatus, nice find.
Moved from ID Request.

Thanks!
Thanks for the help! My kids and I really enjoyed learning more about raft spiders after you helped us ID it. Amazing creatures.
