Moth - Diastema n-sp
Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA
June 29, 2012
Size: forewing length about 12m
Possibly an undescribed species (see thumb of 2010 moth). Specimen to be given to Bruce Walsh who will in turn submit a leg to Don Lafontaine for DNA analysis.

Moved
Moved from Diastema.

possible stray
There are several similar Mexican species such as Diastema morata. This may turn out to be one straying north. Our Diastema cnossia was only known from deep south Texas but is expanding to central Texas. Nice moth!

Good point
I tend to forget how close I am to the border and that the MPG and BG ignore everything south of me. If you know of useful online resources for Mexican moths please let me know.
