beautiful bug - Scudderia

beautiful bug - Scudderia
Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
June 3, 2012
This beautiful bug let me know how much I don't know about my bugs. Is it a katydid, grasshopper...? I found it on Wild Poinsettia, and see them both there and on Virginia Creeper. As they grew up, they became mostly soldid green. For a while I could find one every time I went out and looked in their favorite spots, but I haven't been able to find one in a couple of weeks now.

Moved from ID Request.

A bush katydid nymph…
The adults become mostly green, but sometimes pink forms occur which are not separate species.
