spider - Dolomedes striatus

spider - Dolomedes striatus
Near Wildwood, yellowhead, Alberta, Canada
June 30, 2012
Size: 2 inches long
this was found near a pond, it could go across the water without any problems.

The dorsal markings on the head
look more like D. triton than D. striatus to me.

Moved to Dolomedes striatus
Moved from ID Request.

Can you tell us the date the image was taken? Also spiders are measured without the legs, so the Dolomedes are usually around one inch long. This is the first image of this species posted for AB.

So do you have any idea if it is poisonous or not?

not dangerous
The venom of this spider is not dangerous to people. It would also be very rare for one to bite a person.
