maybe
did you give it a poke and see the hindwings? That would clinch it. Cerogama is one of my "holy grail" Catocala... i would love to find one.

 
I saw it in flight
Every time i poked it, it would fly. Saw a yellow band though.

I find this species fairly often here in Ontario, and this photo is dead on for Yellow Banded Underwing. So I'd say you're right!
