Large milkweed bug? - Oncopeltus fasciatus

Large milkweed bug? - Oncopeltus fasciatus
Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
July 1, 2012
These bugs were spotted on Asclepias eriocarpa (Kotolo or Indian Milkweed) at the Claremont Colleges’ Robert J. Bernard Biological Field Station. I think they are the Large Milkweed Bug, Oncopeltus fasciatus. Confirmation or correction will be greatly appreciated!

(I think these photos are all of the same individual, but two of these bugs were quite close together, and it’s possible that two individuals are pictured.)
