This being a female we couldn't check gonostylus, but the wing has the large bare areas in cells br and bm, actually bm nearly all bare.

please review the ID
acc'g to the latest revision(1), D. pauxillus does not occur in CA; this might be D. pacificus, once considered synonymous with the former (a total of 3 spp. are known to occur in CA)

Suspected something like this after perusal of the revision. Already scheduled to go look at this and some other specimens coming Monday.
