Two-spotted Melyrid (Collops bipunctatus) - Collops bipunctatus - female

Two-spotted Melyrid (Collops bipunctatus) - Collops bipunctatus - Female
Adams County, Colorado, USA
July 1, 2012
Size: ~5mm
Rather small beetle was hard to photograph, and unfortunately this was the best I could do. The red thorax has two black spots.

I would go with...
...Two-spotted Melyrid (Collops bipunctatus) but please wait for an expert. The thumbnail below is a male. I can't be sure but I think yours is female but the antennae are a bit blurred.

Thanks!
I think you're right. Unfortunately I couldn't get any pictures with the antennae in focus--it was moving very fast (and in a rather odd habitat for a melyrid), and I was lucky to get this one.

Yes, a female
I agree with Ron M...the enlarged 3rd antennal segment would be visible here if it were a male.

Thanks!
Since taking this picture I've seen quite a few of these around, some male.
