Lachesilla forcepeta Chapman - Lachesilla forcepeta - female

Lachesilla forcepeta Chapman - Lachesilla forcepeta - Female
San Marcos, Hays County, Texas, USA
July 7, 2012
Size: 1.9 mm
Caught sweeping native grasses. This species is most common on Ashe Juniper. I identified it based on the "diffuse ovoid sclerotic region" in the middle of the subgenital plate. It appears as an oranage patch which can be seen without dissection.
